They told me I had a corrupt BIOS and to ship them my laptop. I called ASUS and they could not help me. Nothing I did would allow the BIOS to see the SSD as a bootable device, even though it did see the drive under SATA configuration. It no longer saw any other drives but the original 1 TB but since it was already corrupted, it would not boot. I was able to recover Windows 7 but not 8) until I updated the BIOS to 221. Things were mostly fine (except for some complications using Acronis Recovery and corrupting both OS's. I added a Corsair Geforce GS 240GB SSD and installed Windows 7 Ultimate to be my main hard drive. I bought my original G75VW from Best Buy earlier this month. I've been having terrible luck with the new BIOS version. Or maybe you got the message on the last screen shot on this link? Here a link to a thread on the subject> Click here ()

Took awhile to finish, but I got my 750GB back to the Factory state.

I had a spare 500GB drive I used to recovery to, then I had to update to the newest version of the AI burner then burn a 'New DVD set'. I had the same problem, did you see a splash screen that's has a white background with a 'BIG RED ERROR' message? The problem is, the AI Recovery Disc Burner that ships with the G75vw just don't work with a HDD over 500GB. Then I conclude that the new BIOS cause this error. The recovery process works perfectly and when the computer reboot it writes 'Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in selected Boot device and press a key.'ДЄnd I saw when i press ESC, i can't see the first P0 entry with the label 'Windows Boot Manager'. And with the recovery DVD's it fails at the rebooting of the computer.

My firts hard disk works perfectly because if I install a proper OS it works fine. My OS in recovery is Windows 7 and i'm sure that the new BIOS 221 is optimised only for Windows 8 system.

My G75VW reference is exactly : G75VW-T1042V I'm sure if I flash the BIOS to 210 version, the recovery boots without this message error. But do you think that the new BIOS is reponsable about the recovery boot failed ? I think i'll flash the BIOS directly with Easy Flash on the BIOS.
